Please note, our service is dependent on driver availability and we may need to prioritise medical journeys for the most vulnerable in our community.

Volunteering

Do you live in the Trowbridge area? Could you spare some time to offer help to a person in need?
Trowbridge Area Community Link Scheme is always looking for people to support our service as a volunteer. Volunteering is a great way to stay active, meet new people and help vulnerable and isolated residents in your community. Volunteering roles* include drivers, coordinators and committee members.
Following an interview and DBS check, new volunteers are issued with a driver’s information pack, an identification badge, a Link fleece jacket and a “Hospital Car” card. We will also reimburse volunteer drivers for mileage and other out-of-pocket expenses.
For more information and an informal chat, please get in touch with us by telephone on 07969 347042.
You can also complete a Volunteer Enquiry Form on our website.
*Please note, all prospective volunteers will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Volunteering is so rewarding, and it is an absolute delight to be able to provide driving services to all those who benefit so much from our services whilst doing something I enjoy doing; driving and meeting new people. Long may LINK and its volunteers continue to be able to provide the variety of services we do and feel so valued and appreciated in equal measure.

Most of my other voluntary stuff involves a computer/telephone/email indoors – so LINK is a brilliant contrast that I look forward to so much. My wife loves LINK too. It gets me out of the house for 3-4 hours at a time! People who don’t volunteer just don’t know what they’re missing.
